Eye Emergency Advice from Our Optometrists

When an eye emergency occurs, you should always seek expert assistance. Make sure you do not do any of the following before calling our optometrist:

  • Apply any kind of pressure on your eye.

  • Try to remove any foreign items using tweezers or other instruments.

  • Apply eye medicines or ointments.

If you have anything trapped in your eye, try blinking and flushing it with cold water. Wash your hands before touching your eye and attempting to delicately remove the particle; if it's a large item, leave it alone and seek emergency medical attention.
